Castle Kitchen

Date: February 2011

Location: Nr Melton Mowbray

After gaining permission to knock down a wall to enlarge their kitchen the owners of this listed property were looking to replace their kitchen with something more luxurious. The customer had always felt the room was dark & by knocking through to another room had revealed another window to the room. To maintain the light in the room Shortland installed a new Chanceaux & Semond Limestone floor & a character oak kitchen with chamfered framing.

The unique U-shaped peninsular creates a hub for the room; there is ample space to spread out when cooking whilst seating to the side makes cooking & entertaining your family & friends a delight.

Bespoke curves & unit sizes mean the peninsular fits the room perfectly & offers easy reach to the Miele oven, microwave, steam oven & microwave built-in to the taller storage units to the back of the room. Placing the induction hob here in front of the window with a ‘Wolf’ downdraft extractor system meant views of the Leicestershire countryside can be enjoyed unspoilt.
